I often wonder that myself. It does imply that everyone who is not Christian doesn't believe in anything, and that is not true. I am not Christian but I still have very strong beliefs. I really wish those people would use "non-Christian" to refer to nonathiest, nonChristian people instead of lumping us all together as "nonbelievers". I personally find it offensive.

I think this question has been answered in many different ways, but what ever way you look at it there's one thing to remember. Don't always judge Christianity as a whole on the answers given by individual Christians. We try, but all of us fail to show everything in perfect truth at some time or other. In this case however, I see the term 'non-believer' as a simple tool to distinguish those who follow Jesus from those who deny his existence, but it's not an insult, just a statement of fact stemming from 'Christian' being synonymous with 'believer of Christ'.

I have referred to non-Christians as non-Christians, atheists and non-believers. I guess that isn't correct. Using non-Christian makes more sense. When someone broadly uses believer or non-believer it does beg question, believe in what?
I promise promise promise I am not getting a tone. I just want to be clear. Jesus was a Jew, yes. However, he was also the Son of God. He is who we believe in. So, he would not be a non-believer. He would not be a Christian. Christian suggest one who follows Christ. Jesus is the savior, comforter, lamb of God, counselor, Son of man, Son of God. So, no, he would not be a non-believer because he is who we believe in.

We call them non-believers because they do not believe in Jesus Christ being the Son of God.

Because according to the bible, you are either one side of the fence or the other. There is no in between.
Being Jewish and a follower of Christ is two totally different things

I find it amusing that NO ONE Can answer your question correctly!!! THIS IS THE DEAL, THE BIBLE HAS CONTRADICTIONS IN IT!!! Thats the real answer!! If this Jesus was a Jew, than you are right, he would be a nonbeliever of his own self!!!! Isn't that stupid!!????
The Bible isn't meant to be taking litteraly!!!
Thats the other problem!!
