Jesus when he came to earth in physical form, established his church. In the church He established, there was apostles, of whom (Peter specificly) he gave "the keys of the kingdom of heaven." Yet today in the christian church there are no devinly apointed apostles. And from my understanding of what I've been told about the christian faith, is that revelation ended with the apostolistic age. I have also been told that there is no need for apostles anymore because the bible replaces the nessesity modern revelation, or rather inturperited "any and everything theat God has said and needed to say was said durring or prior to the apostolistic age, and then neatly packaged into what we call the bible 400 years later."

Now what i want to know, is WHY the revelation stopped. Why the need for revelation is no longer nessesary when it was nessesary with even Christ himself on the earth. And WHEN did God stop talking to us through his apostles (amos 3:7)? Would not the nessisity be greater now

The Religious Society of Friends (also called Quakers) believes in direct ongoing revelation from God.

Well said. It is obvious that the Nicean council was a political farce. Accordingly, the Roman bastardization of Jesus's church is also a farce, a mere shadow of the true church lacking the authority to act in God's name.

It follows then, that all of the splinter groups which broke off from this church (Protestants) are also equally false.

Only a church that claims to be a restoration of the ancient faith has any chance of being the one "true" church. And only one that I'm aware of makes that claim: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

(To DuckPhup: You should know what you're talking about before making such claims. There are written and signed witnesses of 11 others who saw and handled the plates.)

A true "apostle" was one who saw Christ in bodily form. Since no has seen Christ since his assention into heaven (despite what some might say) the Apostolic age ended with the death of the last Apostle.

The age that we are in now is the age of Grace. (See Romans 6 -8) We are also in the age of the Laodiceans. (See Revelation 3:14-22)

God revealing Himself has not stopped. You just need to listen carefully.
The Apostolic age came to an end when the Apostle John died, somewhere in the year 70 AD (or thereabouts). Writings from their teachings, which come directly from Jesus, were made into what is now known as the Holy Bible.

Again, revelation has not stopped. Saints still walk the earth today. People still receive divine intervention. Look at the Blessed Mother revealing herself at Fatima, and what She had to say about her Son. Look to Fr. McGivney from New Haven, Connecticut, and the movement he began. Revelation is all around us. We just need to listen.

First, let me say I checked out your other questions and I like 'em.
Now on with the answer to your question.
Revelation never stopped. For example, Saint Pat Robertson had it revealed unto him that we should go to South America and kill a democratically elected leader and steal the oil. That couldn't come from an ordinary Christian.
Another example, Anal Roberts said that if he didn't raise a specific amount of money, God was going to call him home. He did, God didn't. That had to be revelation in action.
Jerry Fallwell couldn't be getting his ideas from ordinary Christian sources like the Bible, he has to be getting messages from somewhere out there.
Is it possible that God speaks to lots of people in lots of cultures and countries in lots of languages in lots of ways every day. Yes it is. It is more likely than God's deciding to stop talking to humans forever. After all, doesn't the world change. We have killed off many species, changed the weather, developed nasty viruses. Maybe God is still talking to us and I have a premonition that he is going to yell at us really loudly when the ice caps melt. He'll be saying: STUPID!

The NT is a Bronze Age sequence? lol wager someone forgot to inform all those Romans with their gladius'. Hmm...Greek hoplites were nevertheless making use of bronze in the Classical era, so it stretches a minimum of into the fifth-century BCE. i'm really particular by technique of the time of the Hellenistic successor kingdoms the transition to iron grow to be in complete swing, and really by technique of the time the Romans made their large push eastwards. i wager it relies upon on once you imagine 1 metal grow to be deserted for yet another. merely because their grow to be iron smelting occurring does no longer recommend protection stress hardware as an get at the same time had universally been replaced in any given locale.

Jesus was sent by God the Father to fulfill the Old Covenant promises made to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, King David and really to all the prophets and people of Israel.

Jesus chose and sent men specifically to lead His Church of the New Covenant. He annointed them with the mission that He was given by His Father. You are correct to see Peter as the unique leader among the chosen 12 Apostles. Jesus built His Church upon Peter, the rock. Jesus chose (1) shepherd to lead the sheep of His flock on earth. Jesus established a hierarchical Church with so to speak a "Chain of Command". Jesus identified roles of His leadership of Bishops, Deacons, and Priests.

More important Jesus established an Authoritative Church. Jesus specifically delegates all power to His 12 chosen Apostles. The power to forgive sins, the power to offer the once for all sacrifice for eternity (Holy Eucharist), the power to speak with His voice, the power to legislate, the power to discipline.

While revelation has stopped interpretation of Jesus' word in speech, action, and writing must always be safeguarded from abuse. That is why the Bible alone theory is NOT Biblical at all and in conflict with its own doctrine. Sacred Tradition and the written word must always remain in unison and not in conflict.

The scandal of modern Christianity is seen in the constant infighting, division, and dispute of authority. The Body of Christ is One, His Church is One, and Christ is the Head of this Body. The leadership must follow the line of succession established by Christ through the laying of hands validly upon the next designated leaders...think Saint Mathias and how he was chosen to replace the heretic Judas.

The Catholic Church is the only Christian church who traces their roots directly back to Jesus Christ. All others are began by men who believed that they had the special knowledge of Truth.

For most Christians, it ended when the Apostles died.

Some denominations, such as Mormons, do have Apostles.
