Cymbalta is prescribed for depression, but also for physical pain that can come along with a chemical imbalance in the brain. I assume your doctor knows that you are taking the narcotic as well. He prescribed the drugs together for a reason. Like the narcotic, the side effects from the Cymbalta will ease as your body gets used to it. It just takes longer than 2 days. Give it some time. This website: http://www.depressionhurts.com/index.jsp is from the makers of Cymbalta and can tell you a bit more about how it works for pain.

Cymbalta can be found on the internet. They have a website. It sounds like you are having some significant side effects and the CNS symptoms may be an additive effect with your narcotic. If this persists you should contact your pharmacist and/or your physician and discuss your options with him.

Cymbalta is for depression. My husband takes it and he never sleeps and has no real side effects from it. He has to take sleeping pills to go to sleep and never slurs or anything. But, medicine works different on everybody.
