Unfortunately, avoidance of what you're allergic to is the most effective way of controlling your allergies.

There is no "cure" for allergies, but they can be treated and controlled.

Make certain your environment is cleaned of the things you're allergic to...for dust, cats, and mold...get rid of carpeting, and other things that harbor the allergens (like stuffed animals). You can put special covers on your mattress and pillow to help combat the dust allergy.

As for the cat...unfortunately, getting rid of the cat is the only surefire way to deal with that allergy.

It sounds like you could greatly benefit from some basic education. Here is a website that may offer you some help. This is from National Jewish Hospital (one of the world leaders in allergy medicine)

The only thing I can think of would be allergy shots.

Also you can cover your heating vents with cheese cloth, if you live in a cold state, that will reduce the amount of dust in the air.(from the allergist)
Get an air purifier. You don't have to get the expensive Ionic Breeze. Get one from Wal Mart - put it on lay-a-way, and it works just as well. If you don't have the money for one of those, you can take a box fan, take out the screws, and put a furnace filter in it, and then re-screw it. Put it in the window and it keeps a lot of the outdoor allergens OUTSIDE. Works the same but you can't use it when it get's cold.
( a freind gave me this)
Wipe your cats and dogs down with a wet cloth every day. This reduces the dander that you are allergic too. It also helps to keep them clean. (from the allergist)
As for the mold, if you have a cellar that is damp or wet, put insualtion up on the ceiling (of the cellar) and that will help stop it from coming up. If there is mold for instance in the bathroom, keep it clean, and dry and clean with bleach. (from the allergist)
If at all possible, stay away from people who smoke although this is easier said than done. When you are in public, you can't always control what someone else does. After all they have their "RIGHTS" ( my daughter has asthma and can't take the cigarette smoke either so we figured this one out on our own) or she holds her breath when she HAS to walk by them!
MSG? That's salt right? Eating fresh foods instead of canned is better. It's healthier and has less salt. Canned foods have A LOT of salt as a preservative. And for the price of eating "low salt" canned foods, just buy fresh. It will fill you up faster so you won't be hungry. Canned foods are so processed that they actually loose a lot of vitamins and minerals. ( this came from some diet book that was passed in the family)

Food allergies? Just be careful what you eat I guess. Especially when in public. Because lots of times, the maufacturer is allowed to NOT tell you that it has this or that in it. ( I think this was on the news)
That's all I know.

In the case of the food allergies, you have to just plain not eat it.

There are treatments available for other allergies. See a doctor about them.

Other than that, keep the house very clean. Wash out or change the filters in your AC and heating unit on a regular basis. Get an air purifier: That will pull a lot of allergens out of the air. And ask your guests not to smoke in the house. There isn't much I can suggest for when you go out.

Oh yes, and wear a mask if you're doing yard work or doing anything that will kick up a lot of dust. It will save you a ton of misery.

Good luck!

Have you been to an allergy specialist? I had the same problem a few years ago with hives. I had allergy testing done and have some of the same allergies you have. They prescribed Allegra and allergy drops that go under your tongue. The medication helped so much that I no longer take it and have not had a hives breakout in almost three years. Hope this helps!

The dust, cats, and mold - clean, vaccuum, clean, vaccuum - every day and alternate between 3 different allergy pills - one week each. The MSG - I've got that one it gives me migrains - avoid it big time! There is no other way for food allergies - you just get used to the alternatives.

If you're allergic, you're allergic. It's your body chemistry. Other than taking allergy medicine or having shots once a week, there really isn't anything you can do except avoid what causes the allergy to be aggravated.

Just go to the allergist and ask about allergy shots. They are very tinny and can be injected with hardly any pain at all.

Get allergy medication at your local drugstore. Better yet, visit your doctor. He/She will give you a prescribed medication that will help treat your allergic reactions.
