Listen to music that you hate, but nothing quiet or slow-paced.

Also, in the military, we were required to stop once-per-hour
[on long trips] and get out and walk/stretch.

It is nearly impossible to go to sleep when you're cold [I have experimented with this personally].

Lastly, stay hydrated- [no coffee, tea, or soda with caffeine] there seems to be a definite connection between de-hydration and sleepiness/fatigue.

From experience: Drink lots of Mountain Dew, if you're wearing shorts, pinch the inside of your thighs or pull the hair there hard. If all else fails, jamb a pencil into your leg!

Energy drinks starbuks and a good nights sleep. Alot of accedents happen because of people falling asleep in their car for just a sec. Don't be one of those people. Be a safe driver.

Put down the window for fresh air, take breaks to get out and walk/stretch, coffee, and music that you DON'T like (it will aggravate you rather than lulling you).

Turn up the radio real loud if with a friend have them talk to you (so you won't bust your ear drums out)
Drink cappicino stronger than coffee.
oh and if you have young children take them with you.
They will surely keep you up.
