is it just a cop out for being one of the most notorious serial killers

He doesn't anymore actually, as toast he's quite indifferent now. He got his first thrills through sexually violent comic books not porn, at the same time that he found out his sister was his in fact his mother. To be that seriously whacked my money would be on a brain abnormality, a genetic predisposition towards violence and childhood trauma combined.
In prison on death row he couldn't take the guilt that religious loon with the big glasses who used to visit him laid on him, he was manipulated into blaming porn probably because (The religious loon) spends all his energies resisting it himself and has terrible guilt problems he needs to deal with.
As porn has multiplied a million fold since then and we have roughly the same number of nutcases and serial killers it hardly seems likely to be a root cause of anything, however distasteful (or not).

i think it is a cop out. however, porn addiction does play a major role in what drives serial killers to act out on their fantasies. ted bundy looked at extreme and violent porn. after a while, simply fantasizing about it isn't enough, and it provokes an already mentally unstable psychotic to kill with a violent, sexual motive. i read about him and he was known to masturbate over and after each crime he comitted. sick! that's cuz he gets off on the mobidity of what he did. so him blaming porn for his crimes is a cop out; if that's the case, all guys (and lots of girls) would be murderers! however, even tho it's not the porn that's at fault, it did play a part in what he did

I never heard of that before - but then again I don't really study Bundy

But it does sound a bit like a cop out

After all I watch it and I don't have the urge to murder anyone

It's typical liberalism. Not taking responsibility for your own actions. It's the same thing as "it takes a village to raise a child."
No it doesn't it takes parents. If it takes a village then you can sue the village when the kid screws up. I am no more responsible for raising the neighbors kid than you are.
Ted Bundy refuses to take responsibility for his crimes. By blaming pornography we are supposed to feel sorry for him as a victim. This draws attention and guilt away from him and places it on something else.
Video games cause violence.
Guns cause crime.
Spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.

Psychiatrists and psychologists would call it transference.

The porn turned him on and made him have feelings for killing and torturing. He didn't realize he had a mental disorder...He got what he deserved in the end.

Because he wanted to try to put a rational explanation to an irrational and psychotic act. What do you know? Nobody bought it.
