I would recommend you take a class just to become familiar with the format of the test. For the verbal part, the best way to prepare is to read and read and read. That will boost your vocabulary and your ability to think and express your ideas better. As a side note, it is absolutely outrageous that your school should charge $400 for such a course. That should be offered to everyone who wants to take it FREE of any charge.

Good luck!!

unless you're going to be a national merit scholar, PSAT prepping is a waste of time. The PSAT just helps you get a feel for what the SAT will be like.

I took preps at my school and they were a complete waste of time and money. Go to collegeboard.com. When you sign up for the SAT, they'll want to sell you a book full of practice tests and an online prep course with lessons and practice tests. Those are a LOT more helpful and a LOT cheaper. I took it last year, and I'm going to take it again in November. You can take it as many times as you want, and do that because on average, people do better and better the more times they take it. But an 800 sucks so if you get that, take it again.

$400 is ridiculous.

Personally, I think the prep classes are a waste of money. Of course, I was in the top ten percent of my graduating class. If you have a broad vocabulary, a good grasp of the english language, and have studied geometry and algebra you should do fine. I scored over eight hundred on it in the eighth grade (that's average). If you're a little slower (and there's nothing wrong with that), you may want to consider some prep classes, but keep in mind that you can take your SATs more than once.

As reported formerly, the PSAT truly doesn't remember except you're aiming for the nationwide advantage Scholarship. inspite of the undeniable fact that, in case you do desire that scholarship, i'd recommend you to easily merely evaluation. evaluation math (as a lot as Math II at maximum), grammar, and merely studying thoughts. also, taking on-line classes decision from human being to human being; some do not truly study something, and some do. it actually relies upon on you. nonetheless, Princeton evaluation is an rather good handbook; it is going to percentage the guidelines of significant try taking. good luck! playstation : The PSAT is amazingly short, and also you may want to be able to breeze over it, compared to the SAT it really is about 4.5 hours at maximum.
