Try benedryl, or antihistamine. Aveeno has a bath soak product for itching, that's the brand with oatmeal. Sounds funny, but you can tape gloves or mitts on his hands. Wrap and ace bandage or wide tape (not too tight) around the base of the mitt, like a big oven mitt. Make sure his fingernails are clean. Ice packs are good on the itchy spots. Put the ice in a baggie and wrap a t shirt around the baggie. And always distract. "don't think about"

You can even use actual oatmeal. Get an old sock, put oatmeal (real oatmeal, not instant) inside and tie the end. Then, while he's in the bath, get the sock wet and let him smear it all over. He won't itch nearly as much for at least a few hours. My mom used this method for me when I had chicken pox pretty badly at 12 and it was a welcome relief. Make sure you use lukewarm or slightly cool water, hot water will only make itching worse. Good luck, I hope he'll feeling better soon!

Nope. Both of my kids had the vaccine & we didn't have more than 30 spots to worry about wiht no itching.Remembering when I was little, calamine lotion was all that worked.
