My boyfriend and I were together for 13 years. We had 2 children. We broke up 2 years ago. Well after each going down our seperate roads, we are back together. Things are wonderful. Heres the situation, we each have our seperate housholds. He still pays me child support. He stays at my house all weekend. And I see him one day during the week. The kids even go stay at his house with him some nights. People from both sides of the family don't understand why we don't just move back in together. I love the situation, I have my family back together. I also get to have my space a couple of nights a week. If I want to stay up late eating ice cream in bed, watching loud t.v. I can. Do you think it is an odd situation? We are going on a vacation for 5 days next week. I think everything is normal. Would you be happy with a situation like this? Or do you think that a family should be under the same roof? We are both commited to each other.

baby girl, it sounds like both of you are pretty happy with the current situation. why change when things are going good. don't worry what other says to you. they don't have the same life as you. and besides, who are they to say what make you happy. right.

Darlin' I say it's a pretty good situation. Also take into consideration that just because outsiders tell you to do something involving a good situation isn't a reason to do it.You could be married and live apart as far as I'm concerned. It just depends on how you all deal with it.If it makes the relationship good and it keeps your kids happy I think thats great!!Both parents are in the kid's lives and happy with each other.Hell more people need to live apart if thats what happens.Sounds good.

Whatever works for you is fine - nobody else should have a vote. If you are really commited, you might consider marriage, but that doesn't mean you have to live together! I know a couple who got married in 1969, and she has always spent most of the year in France, while he is based in the U.S. They are happy, so there's nothing wrong with being different. Marriage is really just telling your kids and your families that you really plan to honor a commitment to each other, not that you have to move in together.

Different strokes for different folks. If it works for you why should anybody else question it. Enjoy life.
