I agree with you. I had to teach my first wife how to fart.
But I didn't go as far as teaching her how to light them!!

I have five daughters and two granddaughters and have told them the same thing as my sons' and grand sons'. this little poem from a headstone was told to me by my mum fifty years ago.
A butler died while searving at his masters table and written on his headstone was this poem.
Let wind go free
where air you may be.
At head table
or below stairs
let it rip.
where you may sit
Standing there you can see
For want of a fart was the death of me.
Let it go dont hold it in, the worse it can do is give all around a laugh.

I dont keep it in I let the wind run free, all my girl friends are the same and we burp too we once had a competition an a night out with a couple of guys great fun (they were slightly intimidated tho)

It's better out than in, bex.
I suppose some women find it embarrassing, just as some men do, in given situations. For instance, I don't fart on dates, or in meetings, etc., but boy do I let go when I'm at home/in my own environment.

It is so much better for me that a woman is as comfortable as me.
So fart all you like and burp after a beer.
Just remember to put the toilet seat back up when you finish

must be because they were brought up to be little ladies. i was also told not to do so in company, but blow that. if it doesn't pay rent , it must come out.

i am a women, and i hold in my farts because i play darts, and it is wrong to fart when you throw a dart, so says bart, who rides a cart when he cuts a fart.
