My cousin was found hanging in a hotel room...we don't know if it was suicide or if her scum boyfriend did it. I wasn't close to her, I don't even remember ever meeting her, but my mom grew up with her. Her father hasn't spoken to her in a while and doesn't know she's gone, someone has to tell him and we don't know what to do. She was 7 months pregnant and already had 3 children...she was 30 years old. Please give me some advice, I want to help but I don't know what to do.....

There is no good way. Sit down with him and say this: "I have some very bad news. has passed away. I am so sorry this happened. I loved her too." Then, give him the number so he can contact the police and make the funeral arrangements. It all you can do as far as telling him is concerned.

Then, help him figure out what to do about his grandchildren. Someone will have to take care of them. I hope the family rallies around them and loves them.

Call a grief/trauma counsellor and see if they'll prep you beforehand, maybe even sit down with you and the father while you tell him. Jeepers, that's a sad situation.

Let a sleeping dog Lay. Do not tell the father, it would crush him.
