But I was thinking, by telling people they were chosen, maybe it was initially meant to be an act of confidence boosting. If you think you can contribute, maybe you will start.
Does seem like the concept got out of hand a little bit.
Hmm...Any comments, opinions..or just plain comedic sarcasm.

The Human race is the only race I know of. The Jewish people were the chosen people of the Bible because they were the only righteous people on the earth until they crucified the Savior. They will be redeemed when the Savior comes back the SECOND time. Which by the looks of things isn't too far off!

The Jewish people were intended by God to be the Chosen Race originally, since the Messiah was to come from the Jews.
This did happen according to the Jewish prophets in the form of Jesus, but the Jewish people at the time of Jesus' arrival on Earth rejected the idea that he was their Messiah, even to the point where they helped crucify him with the Romans, who they hated for the most part.
Since that happened, all of humanity is now the Chosen Race, since we have all been chosen for salvation by God through Jesus' death.

I love to laugh at people who believe that they are one of the "chosen few" that will be saved by God. This is a very interesting concept if you think about it. Let's say God has already pre-chosen whom he will save (because we know God has a plan). Now if I am one of the chosen few then there is really no need for me to join any church because I've already been saved by God's choice! If I am not one of the chosen few then I still do not need to join any church because joining a church will not change God's mind or alter God's "plan." So in either case, there is no point in me following any particular religion...

Anyone who says an all loving/merciful god chose any one culture or race to be "saved" from the hell god made for sinners to burn in after breaking rules he made knowing they couldn't live up to them is unable to think or follow a logical line of thought.
