Cuz people just don't understand them and people fear what they don't understand.

I didn't realize loners were viewed as bad ppl. I've basicaly been one my whole life. Never been called a bad person, quite the opposite. I just like the solitude, don't like having to answer to anyone (like a husband, boyfriend...), as for friends, I have a few, but, not many, haven't talked to the ones I have in a long time. We write letters, every once in a while. Just because a person like to keep to her or himself doesn't make that person bad.

I don't really know why that is. I'm a loner myself. I guess we could be viewed as being stuck up, or that there is something wrong with us mentally. I just happen to prefer being alone. I find nothing wrong with that.

They're viewed as bad because the media has adopted the word and has used it to brainwash people. There are a lot of decent people that don't like to associate with the unwashed masses.

They're not, just that criminals and bad people usually tend to stay away from society just as loners do, so in our mind we group them in the same area.

people are trying to hyde their fear of approaching them by saying things like that?what percentage of a persons life given to company time denotes whether he's a loner or not and who is keeping track?it seems like the kynds of people that say things don't even realize we have a government and laws to obey,if not hanging out with lawbreakers to keep myself out of trouble keeps me a loner then i say being a loner is better.

Because they are not social. They don't get along with people and tend to be outcasts due to BEHAVIOR.
Oftentimes that behavior is not socially acceptable therefore "bad".
