My boyfriend and I are talking about getting married in August 2007, but he has yet to propse. We looked at rings about a month ago just so he could get an idea of what I liked. We are going out to dinner this Friday to an exteremly nice restaurant, which we rarely do. Could this be the night? Also I know that he is going to formally at some point because it is something else that we have talked about. So getting married without a propsal is not an option. He knows that I won't plan anything without an official proposal.

Oh I hope so for you! That is so cool and neat. I have been with the same guy for 13 yrs, no marriage. If he does, remember the day as the best in your life!

WOW, sounds exciting....don't get bummed if he doesn't or chickens out. Just enjoy the evening together. You are probably right, but don't hinge everything on that.
I know you'll be all dolled up and looking your best, he will be so proud to be with you and that he took the step. (if he actually does)
But please remember something that my mother told me and that my wife and I have learned. (for serious relationships or married couples..."don't say something that you wish you wouldn't have, you can never take those words back!" We all get upset at times, hey people do that, but TRY TRY TRY really hard not to bicker or lash out in a way that causes a scar that will be remembered forever. People can forgive great injustices and immeasurable pain but they may never forget, so you should both remember that. We always hurt the ones we love, especially because we are around each other the most and face the problems of daily life directly, but always remember that the one to whom you've given your marriage vows to is the one you least want to hurt. I have slipped and so has my wife, we love each other and are deeply devoted, but there are times when something stirrs a memory of something one or the other of us said that is always there. Please learn from our mistakes and remember to keep things in perspective. Like I try to remind my wife, "why would I want to say something that would do that much damage, it can't work to my advantage." It's just a stupid outburst.
Hope your wish comes true and you get the proposal, even if it's not at the restaraunt.
Best Wishes:)

It might be, but try not to act too disappointed if it's not. You know it's coming eventually so just relax and enjoy the night out with your man. Consider a proposal frosting, not the only possible good thing about the night.
