Are there any people in Mexico or Canada willing to take our young men in? Right now our men are doing their third rotation. They will either have to start the draft or lower the age of joining up. I'd like to help the peaceful among us to get out.

I agree there are times to fight. My father served 22 years in the Air Force and my daughter joined the army. I just don't think we should be in a war to benefit Haliburton. If we would actually try to stop the people who are in al queda, I'm all for it.

If they start a draft in the United States I would expect only a small percentage to comply. I really don't know how something like conscription could be enforced nowadays. The poor have realized that they have nothing to gain from this war and they are being used. A draft would end the war real quick as soon as Senators' and CEO's sons and daughters are drafted. REAL quick. Then you will really see what this nation is built on. The rich running from their obligation to sacrifice for the good of all citizens. This volunteer force right now has pretty much been exhausted. But I also feel that our involvement in Iraq is coming to an end. And this is coming from a guy that has never supported this war. The number of U.S. troops dying is decreasing rapidly because the insurgent attacks are more focused on sectarian groups now. Shiites vs. Sunnis. And both vs. Iraqi governmental troops. Expect the U.S. to pull out soon. Within 1 year. 2 years at the most. Then an international force will take its place. But their civil war will still continue. Guaranteed.

You can't take and take and take from this country and not give something back. If the draft comes back, we guys need to belly up to the bar and defend this nation.
No one wants to die in battle. No one wants to fight in a war. But there are times when it is necessary. There are people that want to hurt others. Where would we be if the nation's men had fled to Canada or Mexico during WWII?
Consider that many countries have required service after grade school. Most Americans get by without any service.
If you want the boys to flee when the hard times and hard decisions come, then you and your friends should leave now. Save yourself the trouble of fightin for the last seat on the VW bus.

They should not lower the age or force anyone to serve. They should stop sending people to death based on the personal interests of our politicians.
It is so hypocritical that at 18 you are old enough to blow some Iraqi's head off but cannot have a drink. A lot of work is needed in our system to keep this nation from falling apart...

Ummm... No. No draft. Ask Charlie Wrangle about fear mongering with the draft. That really had wings.

All you have to do is look at the 60's and 70's history will repeat it's self.
