She was a prostitute until Jesus saved her.
It's in the Bible. You can look it up yourself.

She was a woman who was possessed by demons. There is no indication she was a prostitute. But, considering she was demon possessed, it's possible.
Mark 16:9
[ ((The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.)) ] When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
Mark 16:8-10 (in Context) Mark 16 (Whole Chapter)
Luke 8:2
and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;

There is no mention at all in the Bible of Mary Magdalene being a prostitute or a sexually loose woman. She is often confused with the woman caught in adultery (John 8) or the "woman of the city" who wept over Jesus' feet (Luke 7).
The Bible says Jesus cast seven devils out of Mary Magdalene. She traveled with Jesus, along with other women who supported him out of their own means. She was present at Jesus' crucifixion and burial, and was the first to see him after his resurrection. Jesus rebuked the male disciples for not believing her--or the women's--report of the resurrection to them.
Here are some Scriptures which refer to Mary Magdalene:

You got your Marys crossed. Mary Magdalene was a disciple of Jesus. There's nothing in the Bible actually stating she was a prostitute, just that Jesus expelled seven demons from her. There's mention of a prostitute, however her name isn't given. Jesus' mom was the Virgin Mary.

No, she was a prostitute who met the Lord Jesus Christ, accepted him as her Lord and Savior and was forgiven of her sins. She is currently in heaven and I for one ,look forward to meeting her. She is a shining example of a truly grateful,born again Christian woman and had a special place in the Bible so that she could be seen as an example for others like her (sinners) as to how a life is changed once one has accepted Christ into ones heart.
God bless you and yours. Thank you for asking this question and giving me the opportunity to publicly express my appreciation of this wonderful womans example of a Christian person.

NO. There is a television program that gave the opinion that she NEVER even was a prostitute...it could have been a different woman but early Christians mixed them up to keep women in line and out of the clergy....and it worked for too many centuries!

No. She came from a town that was known to be on the ''wild'' side. And, the Catholic Church made her look like one as she was too close to Jesus and they did not want a woman to be given any power in the religion they made up.

It depends on who was taking the pictures. I saw Jesus Christ Superstar, and the song, "Does he really love me?" made me believe that nothing is as beautiful as a lady in Love.

There's nothing in the Bible that says that she was.
In fact, there's nothing in the Bible that even says that she was a prostitute -- but for some reason, these days there are lots of people who seem to think that she was one.
