I went into the post office to buy stamps. They had job applications on the counter. I joked around with the young man at the window that I should apply to work there, and I took an application and started to leave; I wasn't that serious about applying, as I already had a job. He called out, "You ought to just fill that out now and leave it here so I can get your phone number." :-)

I said, "I suppose I could just GIVE you my phone number......" I did, and 100 days later, we were engaged.

This was 25 years ago on Sept. 19 and we are the parents of five kids ;-)

However, I would not recommend a whirlwind courtship even if, like we were, you're ages 26 and 30 and out of school and all that. We rushed into it, thinking we were well prepared, but we didn't know each other well enough..... married six mos later, were together 20 years but divorced 4 yrs ago. Not enemies, though.

I've used this one to get her to laugh. You have to make sure the target has a good sense of humor.

"Are you Irish." Most of the time they say "No."
I reply with, "Want some in you."

I know you said which ones have been used on me, but I'm a guy and most girls don't use pick-up lines. I know it's cheesy, but that's what usually makes it work.

Once while listening to music in a bar, some drunk guy stumbled over to where my (then) boyfriend and I were standing, proceeded to spill most of his beer on my leg, and asked my bf: "Say, when you're done with her can I have her?"
