Ok I have never seen such a thing. Cocoa was behind Buster and trying to impregnate him! Do I need to take her to a therapist? Is she confused? My dad says she is just copying what Buster has been trying to do to her. He is not neutered but she is spayed. He was letting her do it! I dont get this. Help!

In dogs and other animals humping is a form of displaying dominance and not always about sex. Hence you can see male, male humping, female, female, humping and female, male humping in animals and this should not be interpreted as gay. It is just showing they are more dominant.

No therarpist is needed. This is just a way one dog tries to dominate another. She's trying to be the apha dog of her pack or at least over him. Try to just startle her with a loud sound or your voice and she will stop at least until you aren't watching again. Really it's just an animal kingdom behavior. I like to explain it this way. Two dogs meet and one says to the other I'm the badest dog you'll meet! The other says OH, BS I will Fu - ck you up! and begins to assert him or herself by the mounting act and motion. The dog that can get the other dog into the under spot wins. Usually there is a struggle intially. Until the underdog accepts that the other is the Alpha & leader dog. Occassionally after that the Leader dog just wants to reassure his/her position and maybe even humilate the other animal by pushing them into submission at times and repeating the behavior.

Coaco Is the Boss lady over Buster. being fixed or nuetered does not affect this instinct.

It's not a sex thing, it's about domiance. They are determining their rank within the pack.
In many ways, constant mounting can be seen as a sign of insecurity within a dog. The dog in question is seeking re-assurance that it is in charge. The response from the mounted dog indicates to what extent they accept the control of other dog. A dog that growls and pushes the other dog off, is in essence not accepting the control of the other dog. On the other hand, dogs that accept it and appear intimidated are signalling their subservience. Confident dogs are often seen to completely ignore being mounted and give the impression of not caring less.

In the canine world, this behavior doesn't always have to do with mating. Dogs do this as a show of dominance over another dog. Check out the behavior of wolves. They have a "pecking order" in their pack. They may also try this with any person or other animal for the same reason.

Dogs show their dominance by humping. Whether it is a human or another animal they are trying to say I am the boss of you.

Nothing is wrong with the dog. the reason she is doing that is to show she is the dominate one. Dogs have a pecking order and she is trying to show him that she is boss of him. No need for any therapy for her.

She is just imitating Buster. One of my female dogs did the same thing. Don't worry about it. Let her have her fun. Save your money she doesn't need a therapist.
