Do not use the markers they give you on a glove. Pennies can be bad sometimes hard to find. Use a silver dollar or 50 cent piece works very well. The bigger the better.

any small round object is ok. Welsh Pro Ian Woosnam got a penalty one time for using his hotel room key in a tournament. It should be something regular in size and flat. I have a dime from the Cayman Islands that I use. I like to collect the ball markers from the courses I play. The are cheap and easy to store.

Pennies aren't too good because the color doesn't contrast well enough with the green. You can use a quarter, nickle, dime, etc. A lot of gloves have buttons on them that snap off and become markers. There is no marker law.

You can use whatever you want. Rules say you SHOULD (not must) use a coin or similar object. I prefer a manhole cover.

Just kidding...the best thing is a dime. It's small, so it's not in the way. It's shiny so it's easy to see.

PS....I can't stand those guys that use gigantic dubloons with their favorite college mascot....TACKY!

No you dont have to buy them but you can get some pretty cool ones if you do. I use a dallas cowboys star as my marker it different and it always starts debates on football.

I prefer a dime myself because they are thin and small.

You can use whatever you want... just make sure it stands out and is easily identified.

Use any flat object you want. No regulations on that.
