I believe it is Corinthians, but the New Testament clearly says that only God can give us faith and we are to pray for it. This is part of human submission to him that we are sinners unworthy of his grace, and that we have no salvation without Him. Moreover, it is acknowledgment that we need Him because if everyone was full of faith, that would be like if everyone had lots of money... no one would work.
Being confident in prayer and faith becomes easier as you develop a stronger relationship with God, which can only be done by daily reading His word and meditating on the meaning.

Great! Wonderful thing to want more of. You do know what faith is? Described and defined in Hebrews 11.
How do you increase anything? By using it. In the new testament, faith occurs 247 times. Go find some of them, and ask yourself, how did they get this? You can get it the same way. Good luck on your quest.

Try spending some time with God each day -- preferably in the morning, but anytime is fine.
During this time, read a Biblical passage, and then pause to think (meditate) on what you have just read, what it means, and how it might apply. During this time of reflecting, God can speak to you through your intellect.
Then spend some time in prayer talking to God. Prayer is not just asking God for things; talk to him like you would talk to anyone. Thank him for his blessings, confess your sins, doubts & fears, and admire him for who he is. Two good books to read on this subject is "Too Busy Not to Pray" by Bill Hybels and "The Kneeling Christian" by an unknown Christian.

Faith is possible to obtain, it comes through prayer and studying the Bible. You can olnly learn to trust someone as you get to know them better. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of God." Rom 10:17.
Also bear in mind that it is faith as small as a mustard seed that moves mountains. That is because the important thing is the object of your faith, like God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises. It truly honors God when we take Him at His word.

I find it interesting that question was asked by Jesus' apostles almost exactly. In response he told them a parable about a servant that worked all day and then when it was dinner time, he had to serve his master dinner before he ate himself. I think that the point is that we have to do what God requires of us to increase our faith. James said that faith without works is dead. There is no way to increase your faith without acting upon the faith you already have.

In spite of what some would have you believe, there is no magic answer to this. I would suggest you do a lot of praying about it and I will pray for you. God bless. We all need to stregnthen our faith daily by prayer and in church. I go to church three times weekly.
