My doctor told me 6 weeks. After my first one I waiting about that long, and got pregnant again, and now have a beautiful baby boy. If you are looking to conceive again, that I would recommend after the six weeks is up...if not maybe a little longer, or use protection.

For as long as the doctor tells you.

At least 6 weeks. And use protection, birth control AND condoms. You do not need to get an infection or to get pregnant right now!

The uterus is like an open wound right now, and it will be awhile before it is completely healed.

After my D&C, my uterus was sore for months, and it still sore during my periods and it's been 5 years!

Most doctors will say 6 weeks, at which point you should have a follow-up appointment so they can check and make sure everything's healing alright. Otherwise there's a chance you can get an infection in your uterus. And then they usually don't recommend pregnancy for at least 3 months.

It is surgery
Talk to your doctor

You need to not get pregnant again either...you are suppose to wait 3-12 months after D&C to get pregnant

As long as your OBGYN tells you too. I would say at least 6 weeks. Call planned parenthood just to make sure. Also, make sure to use protection because ALOT of people get pregnant right afterwards.

Your doc didn't tell you? I had one also, but I don't remember how long you have to wait. Plus I'd just had a baby, so I wasn't really up for it anyway.

I'd probably wait at least a week.
