How can someone compare Elvira Arrellano with Rosa Parks???

I read in an article on the Chicago CBS website that some supporters of Elvira Arrellano compare her to Rosa Parks.

How much tequila do you have to drink to come up with a similarity between the two?

Rosa Parks was a humble symbol for her people. She hadn't broken any laws, she was an upright citizen. She simply stood up for equal civil rights for her people. She was a hero of the civil movement.

Elvira Arrellano is an illegal immigrant. She has committed multiple felonies. She wants to stay in the country even though she has no respect for it's laws. The only reason she's still in the country is because of the media attention she's gotten.

Where is the similarity? Both minorities; but this isn't about civil rights, it's about immigration. As an illegal immigrant, she has no civil rights in our country.

She's an illegal bitching because she shot out an anchor baby and she's still going to get deported.

It's an insult to the memory of Rosa Parks. What do you think?

As a black person, this is totally insulting. The civil rights movement was about American citizens being treated as subhumans. The illegal "rights" movement is about foreign invaders making demands on the US government instead of the government of their own countries.

I think they want to liken themselves to the civil rights movement because that leapfrogs the question of whether illegals have civil rights to enforce at all, which is a big flaw in their argument.

In addition, the blacks won in the civil rights movement, and the illegal immigrants find that appealing.

However, the blacks had rights under the law that were not being enforced. Here enforcement goes in the opposite direction.

I totally agree with you. Rosa Parks was an icon of the Civil Rights movement. Arrellano is not fighting for civil rights. She is an illegal alien fighting for thousands of other illegal aliens who should not be allowed to stay in this country where they drain our resources and contribute little.I don't know which political party will support the deportation of ILLEGAL aliens and the levying of heavy fines on employers who hire them, but that party will have my vote. If they equivocate, which I expect, then I will just stay home this year on election day.

Rosa Parks broke the law by refusing to move to the back of the bus and they called the police in about it. Elvira begged for assylum to stay with her child, the law will not deport her kid with her since he is a citizen. He will be stuck here in foster care. She didnt want to leave him.
