Not even close. At best you have a regional conflicts.

Why in the world do you people believe that the US is pushing us towards a World War? Go read some history books for crying out loud! A World War is just that, the ENTIRE world at WAR! The first and second World Wars began because of Alliance structures that almost assured a World War at the first shot being fired. The 2nd World War was a direct result of the stupid policies of the French and others who wanted to punish the Germans, Austrians and others for their own failed military policies. The Marshall Plan after WWII was in direct contrast to those policies when the leaders realized that rebuilding a defeated enemies country and installing freedom loving democracies would forestall anything like what happened to precipitate WWII. The large standing armies of NATO and the nuclear arsenals of the US and the USSR prevented a 3rd World War.

There is nothing on the horizon to suggest a 3rd World War is anywhere near happening in our immediate future. Terrorism is an international enemy but except for a few rogue states it is the enemy of all nations and most all nations are working to defeat this enemy.

Many wars have their beginning long before the actual shooting starts. Some beginnings are difficult to trace because of the swinging and back 'n forth of both social and financial activities.

Very few, if any, wars have started suddenly like getting up in the morning and finding yourself being shot at. Most start with a difference of opinion about some piece of land or some statement about one's religion. The Islamic fanatics are a classic example when a cartoonist draws a simple cartoon and a whole gang of Islams go insane and threaten be-headings.

From the way things are going with the Islamic gang, I would say that WW3 has already started. The world is just waiting until some innocent person is beheaded because he looked sideways at a poster of Mohammad.

At the end of the month, Iran is supposed to comply with UN regulation of its uranium production. If it doesn't, I'm guessing that Bush will want to immediately enforce the UN's resolution and attack Syria and Iran, first by air and then by land. Israel will help out, they're our ally and their army is still mobilized from the Lebanon conflict.

My guess then is that the US will be involved in a war against Iraq, Iran and Syria and a few other Arab countries that decide to join with them. It will be harder for the US to have Arab allies given the anti-Islam rhetoric lately. This will happen before the November elections and Democrats in Congress will be afraid to take an anti-war position.

Have you heard of the Yom Kippur war in 1973, Israel vs a coalition of Arab nations....Egypt, Syria and Jordan. That was worse than the current situation.....it didn't raise a blip on the world war scenario (not that it didn't have the potention as a spark)...just relegated to the heap of regional conflicts between rump states. When the strategic super powers square off into two camps, then we can talk world war.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, and brinksmanship.... After the next world war, we'll be back into the stone age and you won't have to worry whether a world war occurred or not.

People that are scared. World War 3 will erupt in Europe, just you wait. It will most likely happen because someone is assassinated like in World War 1, then the Arabs will be out of the picture, and you'll have fighting break out in Europe as other countries have agendas. No one will use nuclear weapons, it doesn't constitute any advantage other then destroying the world. By that time nuclear weapons will probably be obsolete any way.

Yes once Iran does not cancel its Uranium enrichment
and the U.S attacks and Russia and China and Syria join in
it will began the Apoclolype and thats when a 1,000
years of peace begins. And to the Fact Finder. America
has its faults. For example Americans say they infiltrated Germany when Russia did it. Americans faked the moon landing
when Russians did it.

Just people being scared. There are not nearly enough countries involved in this to make it a world war.

As long as Middle eastern countrie claim having unrestrained radical militants in their countries is OK (I include Israel here, what with their squatters) I think we'll be hard pressed to avoid it. Actually, Turkey managed to reduce its radicals by making the state secular, thus forcing the military to prevent the formation of radical armed groups...

not yet but in the next few years. it is predicted that it is almost here. and when it comes everyone will know about it. we are making preparations and our enemies are preparing. we already know that china is preparing. in the past few months china has been building up their military and stealing American military designs. China cant handle the U.S. in war so they steal our designs. they want to cheat in war. so that should tell you that Americas side will win the war. because the ones that play unfair never win in these situations.
