everybody already gave you an answer. Wanted to add some famous "cults" which have religious themes. AA=ALCOHOLICS ANNONOMUS, LIONS CLUB, EASTERN STAR, MASONS. WORKING FOR YOUR BOSS CAN BE CONSIDERED A NON-RELIGIOUS CULT JUST LIKE MEMBERSHIP IN A LABOR UNION. Society only labels organizations "cults" which they think is a threat to how they "do it" and to things which they do not understand. If you dare to be different, dare to be aprt of a cliche that others find different or secretive, well oh well, you just joined a CULT! LOL. Ignorance is bliss Hey, I just caught you addittional message. LOL, the Pope was and is the BIGGEST cult leader there ever was. Millions have died at the hands of Popes because they refused to conform to the ways of the church! Is Don a pope worshipper? ewwwww!!!

The term “cult” is used loosely by many who may not be fully aware of its connotations. To prevent confusion, some theologians actually avoid using the term.
The World Book Encyclopedia explains that “traditionally, the term cult referred to any form of worship or ritual observance.” By that criterion, all religious organizations could be classified as cults. However, in general usage today, the word “cult” has a different meaning. The same encyclopedia notes that “since the mid-1900’s, publicity about cults has altered the meaning of the term. Today, the term is applied to groups that follow a living leader who promotes new and unorthodox doctrines and practices.”
Endorsing the popular usage of the term, Newsweek magazine explains that cults “are normally small, fringe groups whose members derive their identity and purpose from a single, charismatic individual.” Similarly, Asiaweek magazine notes that “the term [cult] itself is vague, but it usually denotes a new religious creed built around a charismatic leader, who often proclaims himself to be the personification of God.”

Religion is basically an accepted cult. Christianity was once considered a cult, as was every other religion in it's infancy.

There isn't much difference in RELIGIONS and Cults>There is a GREAT Differance in FAITH IN JESUS ALONE and Cults and Religion.
SAVING FAITH WILL GET YOU TO HEAVEN!!!
Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
In Christ in LOve,

lol...There is a thin line between the two.
But in cults, the leader is more psychotic than some religious clerics. They have the purpose to please themselves by getting devoted attention and support ftom their slave/followers where as in religion (most) religious clerics actually have a more genuine need to help the community and not themselves.
