fill up the three liter with water then pour that into the 5 liter.
(3/5)+(0/3)
then fill the 3 liter back up again.
(3/5)+(3/3)
Pour from the 3 liter until you fill up the 5 liter.
(5/5)+(1/3)
Dump out all of the 5 liter.
(0/5)+(1/3)
Then dump what's left of the 3 liter into the 5 liter.
(1/5)+(0/3)
Then fill the 3 liter back up again.
(1/5)+(3/3)
Then pour 3 liter into the 5 liter.
(4/5) + (0/3)
That is 4 liters.
(4/5= 4 liters.

fill the 5 liter container fill up the three liter bottle and then dump it out, you now have 2 left in the 5 liter bottle now take the 2 and dump it in the three, fill up the 5 liter again and dump as much as can be dumped into the 3 liter container (because you can only fit 1 liter left) and you now have 4 left in the 5 liter container ♥

Fill up the 5 liter completely and weight it. Then divide the weight by 5 and you get the weight for 1 liter. Multiply that amount by 4 and you have the weight of 4 liters. dump out the excess water until you get the weight of 4 liters. Works for me.
