My hair has been a problem because so thick. I've had it thinned with thinning shears, but you know what? I really like the layered look instead. Both should be done by a professional. You can go to a salon and ask to see pictures of models with various hairstyles for thick hair. Some of them are very versatile,, you can wear it up, or down, or tied this way or that. Be glad you have that problem instead of thin hair.
Thick hair can be hard to manage when it's wet. Use a conditioner to rinse after shampooing so it will comb out easily. You can use a blow drier with an attachment to get it to look wavy or straight.

You can buy thinning scissors, you cut the hair close to the roots and it reduces the thickness, they are great, i have to use them in my sons hair

Dont do it yourself!!! Go to any "good" hair salon! They have scissors that are made just to thin out your hair! I get my hair thinned out every three months!!! Its great!!!

Try either getting layers or having your stylist razor it (this thins it out substantially). I have the same problem, and razoring worked like a charm. Good luck and God bless!

man i wish i had your problem, my hair is pathetic
anyway, there are these special thinning scissors that look like regular scissors except they have teeth, so that you cut a portion off and leave the rest alone. i have no clue where you can get one though.
if not, go to the hairstylists, and get your hair layered.
