it definitely is - it is not something the patient consciously does, although it can be triggered by certain things in a conscious patient.

thats a trip, i just found out that while i am sleeping my foot and hands twitch, they sent me in for a sleep depervation E>E>G> and found out it was caused by a seizure have your doctor do a E>E>G> and find out if thats what it is good luck

when someone is sleeping deeply, almost anything can occur and they won't know it. A seizure, most certainly.

yes, I have anxiety attacks when I sleep. Often I dream that i am having one at the time that I actually am.

YES!! It can happen.. After he/she wakes up.. their tongue might be sore due to the fact that they have tried to bite their tongue.
