I wanted to keep them for centimental reasons...is it becasue of the copyright law...so that no1 copies the ticket or what.....

they are thermal paper so of course it happens like that.

Laminators do that to some items - heard of the same thing happening to baby scans.
Depends on the paper used and what happens to it when it is heated.

They may be thermal paper. Thermal paper turns black when heat is applied to it.

did you put it in between laminate sheets, if not you cooked it...
