Like if someone said I did it at infinite cost to myself. What does that mean??

Infinite cost essentially is an exorbitant, measureless price.

As for your example, when someone says "infinte cost to myself" it's a bit of an exaggeration, but... it probably means that they sacrificed something so great that they'll be feeling the aftereffects for a long time to come.

It means they're exaggerating. "Infinite cost" means unlimited cost.
