My dog does the same thing right before she needs her nails clipped. Call the vet and get them clipped. It will stop.

Some dogs, like people, suffer from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), you should mention it to the vet, or at least talk to a professional groomer to get their opinion.

My Staffie would bite his nails and it wasnt a problem. Staffies chew ther own nails to keep them down.

my dogs bite their nails when they are too long. if you keep them trimmed regularly, they probably won't bite them.
