I am currently in the market for a good bio diesel vehicle. My husband makes it in our garage and wants me to purchase a TDI or similar type vehicle. I am thinking of getting a Jetta Wagon, Jeep Liberty. I have recently looked at getting a full size truck either a Ford or Dodge. I am starting to lean towards getting a full size truck, but the thing is I am 4'11, so I dont know if it is something I can handle. Your input please.

sethle99 - your wrong, they are not stopping the production due to a transmission issue, they are stopping production because the diesel in the Liberty will not meet next years federal emissions requirements for diesels. Get your facts straight

To answer the question, if I was to get a diesel vehicle right now that was not a Dodge Ram 2500, I would get the Jetta. 50MPG sounds really good with fuel prices the way they are.

I'd go with the Jetta TDI. It received a good review from consumer reports and the mileage will be a lot better than a full size truck. Good luck!

They are stopping the production of the Jeep Liberty diesel because of a weak tranmission that kept going out on them. I hear a Jetta is a good vehicle, and that would probably be a great one for someone your size. Don't get a truck just for something to have, since you'll end up getting worse milage with that than you would with something smaller with a gas engine. While they do get impressive milage for vehicles that size, something smaller that runs on E-85 will still get as good or better for less money per tank.

My friend recently traded in her Jetta wagon for a Volvo wagon and misses her Jetta. She got close to 200,000 miles on that car and only has good things to say about it.
I think it would be a good choice.

I work as a mechanic and I would personally go with an import. as much as I hate to say it, they have much better quality as a whole. If you were to purshase a full size I would reccomend chevrolet or gmc. The duramax diesel is on tough puppy.

They've recently invented something you may find interesting...an adjustable seat that slides closer to the steering wheel!

(ps:my mom was 4'11 too :-) )
