I am having my apartment cleaned tomorrow for move-out, which is two maids for two hours. Do I tip them? Individually? How much? Help!

No, people do not usually tip hired maids. If you feel they deserve a tip i'm sure they would appreciate 10 or 20 bucks if they worked hard.

A tip would be nice, maybe $5 or $10 each since they will only be there for two hours.

Be there when they finish, inspect and if you are well pleased, tip them twenty percent if you can afford to, otherwise just pay them the agreed upon price. They are not waiters, they get paid a set amount and good work is expected, PERIOD. Don't tip unless you just want to be super generous.

When they are done, give a good look around. Make sure they "cleaned". I used to clean houses, and the little things always mattered. My usual tip ran about 20.00.

We just did this a month ago, and tipped $25 each. They did an excellent job. If you aren't satisfied with their work, tip less, but definitely tip something.

You shouldn't tip cleaning people. Only cows should be tipped.
