I have heard a rumor that the Ford Flathead engine is being re-cast for the street rod market. Has anyone else heard this?

Aftermarket companies have been doing this for years. You can buy a brand new flathead, and it doesn't even have one ford factory part. The aftermarket block as well as all parts are not only stronger, but make more power thanks to technology.

I wouldn't be surprised. They already make everything for them other than the block, so it seems like a good idea. It would allow them to make some much needed updates to it, such as better bearings and possibly making the bore larger.

yes and they are having very good luck with them. the reason being the old blocks are just that, old and never very good to begine with so the after market decided to do this and they are making some serious h.p. with them

Doesn't make business sense because they are still available used.
