my two favorites are american photo and b & w photo. american photo doesn't have much for technique but they're always up on the latest gadgets and newest cameras. they're a great resource if you're looking to buy or just want to know what's out there. b & w just has great photos in it. lots of examples from all the top photographers. there's a few others i pick up now and then. shutterbug is decent as is popular photography. if i want good examples of a type of photography i grab a magazine that showcases that type. like w for fashion ornational geographic for photojournalism.
