The way people seem to rebel against what we call Christanity. You would think they were being asked to cut off their heads. What is the big problem with the teaching of Christ as a lifestyle? Plus from my studies religions of all kinds seem harder?

yes and no.

It's the easiest thing in the world and at the same time the hardest thing in the world.

"When Jesus calls a man to Himself, He bids him come and die" - Deitrich Bonhoffer, in "The Cost of Discipleship"

Jesus said "if any man wants to be my follower, he must deny himself daily, take up his cross, and follow me"

Jesus requires that we die to ourselves (and our own plans and goals and desires and wants), and be alive to Him. . living only for Him. .

that's not easy. .

I've lived by the teachings of Christianity all of my life. They are not hard, but do require self-discipline and a willingness to put God and his will before your own. I think many people see this as a hard lifestyle because society teaches that self-gratification and living in the moment are more rewarding and fulfilling. The road of least resistance is the road worth taking.

With that said, however, there have been times in my life when I have been in the middle of a trial or trials and I think, it would just be so easy to go the way of the world, but in the end I know that trading temporary happiness for long term happiness will not be rewarding or fulfilling.

Life was never meant to be easy, but I find my belief in Jesus Christ answers many questions for me and guides my path. There are things that I just know to be true and that is what comforts me and helps me live my life.

Let's face it—we live in a complex world. Technology improves daily, and with it, the pace increases. Surrounded by driving forces, it is no small wonder that our spiritual lives take a hit. People these days find it hard to follow rules due to the amount of free-will we all obtain, no one can force anyone to believe/do/say anything without the modern conventional way of responding which is by questioning the regime. Due to the masses of Christian followers in the modern century people have begun questioning the government on certain authorities but now they've turned on their own religions.

I think any religion practiced "religiously" requires a good amount of self discipline, time, effort, thought, etc. Despite religious wars and other ways we take God's name in vain, the reality is almost ALL religions ask you to put others before yourself, to forgive - even when you don't want to, to turn away from material things to put God first.

Then you get into rules and dogma - when you must attend church, dietary restrictions, etc. and those vary a lot - even within Christian religions. But most of the really important stuff is going to be true no matter what religion you espouse. Once you have faith, that stuff gets easier too.

The Materialistic Devil, appearing as Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen and others, convince people that the teachings of Christ will result in material rewards rather than spiritual rewards.

Joel Osteen himself does not minister to the sick, for example, but he builds $100 Million facilities with spinning globes (a la Enron and the United Nations)

Jesus took a perfectly good religion where God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipreset and cancelled the Omniscient part to trade in for "God is too stupid to create that which won't pi*s Him off."
Take into account the number of times the J's religious buracracy(?) has committed crimes against humanity in the 2000 year reich of its existance (including genocide more than once), and you will have your answer.
Hypocracy is definately strong in Middle Eastern Religions.
Oh, and from my personal observation of "christians" they can be defined in two ways: 1) Bible worshippers 2) Brown-nosing their way into Heaven (9 of 10 commandments are about MANS RELATIONSHIP WITH MAN--not ones relationship with the nasal/holy orafice. Also, I notice practitioners are feel that dumping money into the plate is "taking care of my fellow man"...what a lazy bunch of rednecks.

It's not so much accepting Christ as accepting one way of thinking, one way of viewing the world. I know that personally I just could never believe that the world works a certain way and that's just how it is, tough.

Personally, I also believe that Christianity is just way too woman-demonizing. If there is a god, in my viewpoint, there is also a goddess, and not necessarily one god or goddess or one way to live.

So, yes, it is difficult, because unless you can take Christianity and apply it to your life in a liberal way, it is anti-tolerant of everything that does not fit in with its view.

That said (someone mangled), I have nothing against Christianity, but keep your beliefs out of other peoples lives. If no one is getting hurt (ex civil rights for gays) then there's no right for you to force your views.

Sorry. Lil rant.

Jesus is the most controversial name of all time, because people have a hard time wrapping their mind around someone who may or may not have existed, BUT I know, know, know that he did! Please read the King James Bible, it is the most accurate version, least watered down. Satan has a biiig stronghold on the world these days and it's drawling people to many other religions other than Christianity (which i am of) But being Born Again is most important no matter who you are. It means you acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. And will repent and accept Jesus into your heart.

Its not Christianity that people are rebelling against, but the restrictions put on us by specific church doctrine that has nothing to do with christianity. you know, the old "do as I say, not as I do" sermons. Don't drink alcohol, Don't go out to places where people are actually having fun and dancing, and having fun, Don't date anyone outside your specific church. Read only proscribed literature(heaven forbid if you actually like sci-fi, or Harry Potter) Dress a certain way, Don't ask questions! Oh, and my favourite, give 10% or more of your wages to the church, and don't ask where it is going.
