people say it needs dust vaccuming out of back and/or it could be overheating how true ?

both these suggestions are viable, so hoover it out. or it could be a loose connection in the wiring,

Hi. It sounds possible that your tv sound is dropping from NICAM stereo to mono sound output, the effect is that it goes from loud to quiet. If this the case, it is possibly a loose scart connection from the input source (Sky, cable or Freeview, etc) or if you have just an aerial lead it could be poor quality signal which means the NICAM stereo "drops out" from time to time. Aside from that it could well be a dry solder joint and needs an engineer. Best of luck

sure; it incredibly is why i flow tenting. yet i'm fortunate - I stay in a small component of wooded area, so i'm getting to sit down down and hear the birds and the water on a generic foundation. actually stable for the blood stress, and the soul :-)

Its almost certainly a dry solder joint. This is no great shakes and an engineer could fix it on the spot.
