Kilz is the best way to hide anything. You can buy Kilz in a latex base, which makes it easier to clean up.

You only need to use the kilz if there are water stains or something on the walls. like where it rained in or something. you can paint over the semi gloss just by putting a cheap primer under it.. and then painting it the color that you want it to be.

Yes, it is. Remember though that Kiltz paint can not be washed
off of your skin or surfaces with soap and water. Have Mineral
Spirits on hand to use for clean-up.
Dawn and Nail Polish Remover together work on skin but use in
a ventilated area and if necessary take off a bit at a time. Otherwise your skin will become irritated

you dont necessairly have to kilz it ,you could just do two coats of flat, but if you do any spackling or patching to the wall it would be a good idea to prime those spots. ..A painting contractor for 15 years...

You better believe it if it's enamel. Water base paints will peel and chip over enamel.

If it is water base, no problem. Just use "Liqued Sandpaper" to clean and prepare the surface.
