Looks like the Trinity Doctrine to me. Which is why the Trinity Doctrine is false. The trinity is not taught by the Bible. It was invented during the Nicean Counsel after apostacy had begun to creep into the early church.

From what I can tell, your comment about 1 John 5:7 is probably correct -- most scholars (even conservative) consider it an insertion meant to reaffirm the Trinity concept.
Still the Trinity doesn't really hinge on that verse. I don't have the mental stamina right now to put together better details for you.
Jesus definitely equated himself to Jehovah the Father (and referred to himself as the "Son.")
The connection to the "Holy Spirit" is less stringent but still insinuated from events like Jesus' baptism, the Spirit "replacing" Jesus as the active connection (God's internalized voice) between God and man, and so on...
Yeah, you pick on how it seems non-sensical, and I understand why people feel that way.
I think the best way to understand it (and the way the church fathers generally described it) is that God is three like-natured beings who are in such community with each other that they are literally one.
We only have coarse approximations of this in our human relationships, but we can all imagine the ideal of the "soul mate." Consider the Trinity to be the idealized form of it, where each member has a specific role and identity, but are equivalent in essence and so in connection with each other that they're inseparable and one.
This is why God can be said to be "love" -- a single being cannot love, but God has always been a community and thus each of the three could act out of perfect love towards the other. Without the Trinity, the idea and extent of "love" is weakened.
You might not buy it anyway (that's fine), but I think that's probably the best I can do for you right now.
heh. Mythery. Myth-Adventures. Mything Link. (Darn, now I want to run home and read Robert Asprin again...)

The trinity doctrine is a mystery because it is not founded on the bible, it is another pagan teaching that has been incorporated into christendom. If you take some scriptures out of context you could perhaps reason that they were referring to a trinity, but when you put them in context with the rest of the scriptures you see that in fact the trinity is wrong. some people have also mistranslated or added to the bible to make this doctrine fit, for example the scripture in 1 john 5:7, or John 1:1 which is used so much as a proof of the trinity but which when properly translated proves the opposite.

Read the bible : col 1:15 and Rev. 3:14
There was an almighty God and he decided to create someone had to be first. so he created Jesus. by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and the earth.
Even all the other spirit persons. They are spirit persons.
Then they created created the earth. It says : Let us make man.
Using holy spirit which was poured out on 120 disciples in the upper room is a power. Energy. The force they use to create things. Rev 12:7 verse says there was a war in heaven and Micheal and his angels battled with the dragon and his angels.
showing 2 oposing forces. One of good the other of evil.
the devil was thrown down to the earth and now the earth is evil

If you really want to know?catholics are adherents to the trinity
doctrine.yet "the new catholic encyclopedia states:"the formulation
'one God in three persons' was not solidly established, certainly
not fully assimilated into christian life and its profession of faith,
prior to the end of the 4th.century.but it is precisley this formulation
that has first claim to the title'the trinitarian dogma'.among the apostolic fathers, there had been nothing remotely approching
such a mentality or perspective--(1967),vol.xiv,p.299.further-the
new encyclopedia britannica says:'neither the word trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the new testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the shema in the old testament:Hear,O Israel:'The Lord our God is one Lord'(duet.6:4)
the doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies...
in short, the trinitarian doctrine is not based on the scriptures.
there are ample scriptures to bebunk the trinity doctrine.
God is God almighty,Jesus Christ is his only begotten son,THE
"holy ghost"or..GODs active force,Holy spirit,are three different
things.not all rolled into one......

Are you three parts, a whole. You are mind, body, spirit. Each one working together to make you a single, thinking, feeling creature right.
God is no diffrent.
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Diamond doll is correct! wether you believe or not thats the way it goes. it also says that the Word became Flesh and Bones (human) therefore its God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost working together as one.. and its not a doctrine or does it belong to any religion because God nor Jesus belong to a certain doctrine nor religion ...man have categorized it since the days of the disciples. the disciples used to be called "the way" which later it turned to the name of Christians when Christians simply means a humble and sincere relationship with God

god's nature is to exist in three equal beings. our brains can't comprehend god's nature, just like a bug can't comprehend ours. Jesus Christ (god the son) revealed God the father and god the holy spirit. we must have faith>
