I will.
I've known from day one that this mess was a mistake.

The only way we can lose if our political will to win wavers. The insurgents know they can't defeat our armed forces, why do you think they reduced the number of attacks on US forces and began bombing Mosques, market places, police stations and anywhere else there were large numbers of civilians? They are hoping to start a civil war and I have to admit they are very close to do doing just that. They know the American public doesn't have the will to stick it out. They've studied history, they know what happened in Vietnam and Somalia. They know the weakest link in American foreign policy is the American public that lacks the will power to see a difficult job through to the finish.
If we lose its the fault of everyone who whinned and wringed their hands over how badly its going.
We lost over 6,000....yes thats right 6 THOUSAND marines taking Iwo Jima in 37 days of fighting and the only goal there was to have a base for which wounded bombers returning from Japan would have a place to land. Don't you think the chance of building a free and democratic Iraq right smack in the center of the Middle East is worth the risk? Isn't having a free, democratic country there wortht the fight? If we're EVER going to defeat terrorism then its going to begin with changing the way people in that area of the world think and live. Can't be done? Wow, people said the same thing about the Japanese after the 2nd World War. Europeans wondered if the Germans could ever give up their ambitions for being a global power. It can be done but it DOES bear a cost.

You have to be kidding! We are absolutely no where near defeat. Just because we are unwilling to nuke the Iraqi people into blown glass, you think we are losing? We have lost a few thousand men. Check out WW1, WW2, Korea and Viet Nam. If we built a wall to honor the dead soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan it would only be about fifty feet long. There are no winners in a war. Only losers. Both sides lose men and materials. Both are forever changed by war. The war in Iraq was for creating an American presence in the Middle East. Was it the right thing to do? Maybe not, but if you want to make foreign policy then I think you need to get elected to office.

We have and operate a military that is not designed or trained to occupy major urban centers much less a country w/ a populace of 27 mil. So to say we are being beaten is a bit innacurate. But we can not claim to be winning either. That is always the problem when facing an insurgency.
But the real shame should be felt by the executive branch of our govt. They should feel sick to their stomach every time they face their constituency or the Soldiers.

2 of my best friends are military men. One was in Baghdad during the hunt for Saddam and has since returned. The other is in Iraq now. All 3 of us have supported the war from the start, and from my friends experiences over there, their feelings that we were right to get involved have gotten even stronger. I can not fully understand as I did not see first hand like they did, but when they tell me stories about how oppressed some of the people over there were, especially the women and Shiite muslims under Saddam, I tend ot take their word for it.
And to answer your question, I do look them in the eyes and thank them whenever I get a chance.

No they won't be able to look at anybody in the eye; in fact, they will not look anyone in the eye because they will blame liberals for the lose.
On what grounds they will blame the Liberals for the lost war will be a Long stretch, but that does not discourages the Republicans.
We liberals have to get it straight, Republicans lie with great easy, because the stern father at home would not let them have their own ideas about anything we consider important. So, we will get a lot of what my generation went through after the Vietnam War finally came to an end.
The Republicans were wrong about every thing they said about both wars. Somehow, losing a war and causeing untold death and destruction is a day time game to the Republicans, conservatives and yestercons of the Grand OlL Party.
By the by Mr/Mrs Republicans," 3338 civilian deaths in Baghdad in the month of July, 2006. How is your war going?

Defeat? No. This will not be another vietnam. This war has just pushed the ignorance forward in alot of americans. I am by no means a republican, nor do I totally agree with the war, but I sure as hell don't listen to the news to get my information either. The news only reports the bad that has happened there, not the good that our soldiers talk about when they are home, of helping people and making a difference in their personal lives.
Sure, lives are lost, but in what war is there not!??! Men chose their job knowing it could cost them their life. It's something they wanted to do.
And if someone comes back here and I meet them, I am going to Thank them for trying to keep us safer here at home!

Anyone who beleives that we should have left Saddam alone should take the time to learn what was happening under his control.
Start here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_Saddam's_Iraq
From that Wikipedia page - go to the bottom and click on the videos link (if you dare - very graphic)
If, after you've learned a little, you still think we should not have taken him out - well, I just can't imagine that you'd still feel that way.
My son fought in Iraq for over a year - made it home (thank God and body armor) - he's proud to have done so and I'm proud of him and the USA - monsters like Saddam, Bin Laden, Al-Zarqawi and all al-Qaida robots have to be stopped there before they come here.
So, enjoy your freedom (and your Starbucks) that you are not willing to fight for.

?? nicely, I provide you this, you researched your question. So I definately admire you for dealing with the priority. and that i checked for accuracy (on a number of it, no longer all) too. good activity!! I relatively have a pair matters with this however. a million. you're comparing apples and oranges. each and each conflict is different. Our WWII losses might have doubled if we did no longer drop the bombs. ought to we evaluate doing that now, as Nixon curiously did for the period of Vietnam? 2. submit to in techniques "undertaking performed"? grow to be that the top of the conflict? Technically, we are no longer in a conflict real now. perhaps it incredibly is why the dems are upset. what's the undertaking in Iraq? First it grow to be WMD's. Then whilst that grew to become out to be a bald-confronted lie, we shifted to "isn't it greater effectual now that Saddam isn't in capability?". After that, it grow to be "we ought to grant stability until eventually a central authority is shaped". All that has been finished. So, what's next? what's the undertaking? Oh, now we ought to attend until eventually the Iraqi military is as much as activity. BTW, submit to in techniques how Rumsfield demanded that the Iraq military be disbanded? might it no longer have been greater effectual to maintain them in service? 3. have you ever asked the mamma and papa of #2,582 on your stat sheet approximately how they sense? you're lacking the excellent component of the communicate via specializing in "deaths", and exhibiting us that it won't be that undesirable. the component is, we are caught, only like Vietnam and Korea. whilst are the troops coming living house? We nevertheless shop 30,000 plus (i think of, be at liberty to easily right me if i'm incorrect) in South Korea. yet our troops in Korea are not demise. Iraq troops are. And, the democrats ask, WHY? It has no longer something to do with dying costs, yet why we are over there, what's the undertaking?

Whether or not we do or don't win this war in Iraq. It really has no bearing on my feeling towards the soldiers. They're the people putting their lives on the line for the country. Not me. I would however, have anger towards those in charge of the soldiers if things don't turn out the way they were intially broadcasted to us.
