He was supposed to be an example on how to live, but he was human.
And as soon as you are born into this world you are a sinner.
Therefore he felt the same temptation.
But you have to understand, someone who sins often (for example, someone who has careless sex often) feels more temptation than someone who doesn't sin alot (or someone who doesn't have sex).
The more you sin, the more you are tempted, and the more you sin again, because you have before.
So yes, Jesus felt the same temptation as us, but he most likely lived a more uprght life then most of us, and thus the temptation is not often or severe as our temptation.

Umm, no, He wasn't gay or a pedophile. Those are not normal human feelings. I'm sure He felt lonely, He was upset at being left along after everyone feel asleep before they came to arrest him. He was human, had natural and normal human urges, but He resisted all temptation. Being tempted isn't a sin, giving in to it is the sin.

Yes, Jesus was tempted in all the same ways that we are. Maybe crack wasn't invented, or internet pornography for that matter. But those are very specific temptations that all stem from the same basic temptations. He was tempted in every way that man today is tempted, or else his dying wouldn't really mean anything. Jesus played by the rules.

Is it important?
Of course it is.
The entire purpose of Christ coming to earth as a man and dying, a perfect sacrifice for us, is to prove, once and for all, in the minds of the holy angels and well as the fallen ones, that it IS possible to obey the holy law of God.
Satan's entire argument is that it is impossible to obey the Law, that it was written to bind us and prevent us from having happiness. When Christ died, it accomplished several things;
1: It proved the true nature of sin, a spirit of rebellion that drives fallen beings to kill their own creator and that separation from God causes all pain and suffering. Before Christ's death, the angels had not yet been completely convinced that sin was, well, a bad thing, and the 4000ish years before the Crucifixion, terminating at Calvary, were a "spectacle to the worlds" of what sin really is.
2: It proved that it IS possible to keep the Law, and through Christ's immaculate sacrifice for us, He took our sins, and their punishment -- death -- for us, leaving us with just the choice to accept His gift of salvation.
Now, true, some of the sins we deal with now were not yet around back then, but they all had a common root that Christ dealt with. And as for homosexual/pedophile urges, those are just a branch off lust, and Christ DID face lustful temptations during His life, so He was in all manners tempted as we are tempted.

He was tempted by sin, but did not succumb to it. I give you the example in Matthew chapt. 4. Remember, Jesus had fasted for 40 days, and therefore was very hungry and weakened. Satan tempted Him to meet His physical needs using His God powers, Jesus resisted. Satan tempted Him to test God's faithfulness, He resisted. Finally, he tempted Jesus with pride, again Jesus refused. It is interesting that Jesus used Scripture to resist Satan, as Christians should do. Was he ever lonely? Yes, if you were abandoned by your closest friends on the eve of your death, that would be a very lonely feeling.
Heb 4:14 Then having a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession.
Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses but One having been tried in all respects according to our likeness, apart from sin.
Heb 4:16 Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and we may find grace for timely help.

He was tempted for 40 day and 40 nights. Do you know of all the temptations he went through?
By the way, yes, it is important that he was tempted. That way on judgment day you can't say that he wasn't tempted. You will have no excuse. So, repent in Jesus' name and seek the God.

He walked in our shoes. Are you saying that everyone one this earth feels all the urges that are out there? I have never had the urge to kill someone, but I would imagine some people have had that urge. So with that your question does not really hold up to the logic test.

It's relevant and essential that Jesus was human in every possible way. He would be useless without having been confined to the earth, as we are.
I believe that his "mission" was to experience earthly life as a human. The same as all of us.
