Well, first, it states you should be babtized at the age of accountability, meaning your old enough to make the decision of right vs wrong. And somewhere it says it should be done as a "child" This is where I think Catholics got it wrong. (not that they are bad, just somewhere in the past they somehow changed this rule) Also it says you need to be babtized by immersion.

The word "Time" in your referenced scripture means "this life" So this ENTIRE life is the time to prepare, not just at the end.

Check out Rev. 20:12

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

So people can beleive they will be "saved" and to a point they are right. But possibly only from hell or damnation is all. they still must be "Judged" according to what they did while in this life. So you think they can do wrongs against people and commit harsh sins and still be fine as long as they are "saved" at the last minute? I think of it as "being saved" means basically a right to a trial instead of direct judgement.

Even I as a Christian know there are other ways to salvation outside the Christian faith. Perhaps you should brush up on Church documents before asking a question like this. And, as Indigo points out, be a little more open-minded.

I'm with Tirya. I try to leave people better than I found them and follow the Golden Rule. I don't believe in being "saved." Or "born again" for that matter... I was born just fine the first time.

What am I getting saved from??? Think about your question for a minute.........I'm not a Christian therefore I don't believe in salvation through Christ. What you people don't get is that we do not have the same beliefs as you do so the whole "saved" concept is irrelevant. Keep it to yourself.

I am Christian, but I must admit, I'm a little confused by the phrase "get saved." What do you mean by that?

No. I am living my life by my convictions and by the guidelines of my faith, which basically boil down to "be a nice person and don't hurt anybody".

If that's not good enough, well, at least I'll have lots of company.

No. I only believed in your mythology when I was very young... the older I get, the more ridiculous Christianity appears to me.

No. I don't believe in being saved at all. I plan on being an Agnostic for the rest of my life.

are you so closed minded that you can't except that others worship differently? clearly you do not believe in the US constitution, where freedom of religion is guaranteed. maybe you can take your head out of the sand and look around and embrace that you're a hair ignorant.....
