chrisitians aren't allowed either Alcohol has been the scourge of human society since time immemorial. It continues to cost countless human lives, and causes terrible misery to millions throughout the world. Alcohol is the root cause of several problems facing society. The statistics of soaring crime rates, increasing instances of mental illnesses and millions of broken homes throughout the world bear mute testimony to the destructive power of alcohol.
1. Prohibition of alcohol in the Qur’an
The Glorious Qur’an prohibits the consumption of alcohol in the following verse:
"O ye who believe!
Intoxicants and Gambling,
(Dedication of) stones,
And (divination by) arrows,
Are an Abomination –
Of Satan’s handiwork;
Eschew such (abomination),
That ye may prosper."
[Al-Qur’an 5:90]
2. Prohibition of alcohol in the Bible
The Bible prohibits the consumption of alcohol in the following verses:
"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging; and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."
[Proverbs 20:1]
"And be not drunk with wine."
[Ephesians 5:18]

Alcohol has the ability to harm us and anything that has the ability to harm us should not be ingested. Allah does not want us to harm our bodies in any way that could be prevented. He is All Knowing; thus, He knows the effects of Alcohol.
91. Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?
Alcohol has the ability to turn the sanity of man into a vile, abusive human being, so why would God allow it?

before anyone mocks any religion, one needs to know about the subject they are talking about, do not just believe what the media says, look into it urself! as you are so interested in lnowing why muslims are not allowed alcohol is for this reason that when you are intoxicated your out of ur senses, that is the reason for why there are crimes like murder and rape going on in this country!!! so islam ahs forbidden the drinking for the purpose that such crimes do not be commited as islam is a peacful religion not somethin that should be mocked on.... this goes to all those that answed by taking the mick out of any religion!

because alcohol is a poison
how much of a better place would the world be without it
you can relate it to so many wrong doings e.g:
marriage break ups (you got drunk and slept with another person)
killing someone (you got drunk and drove and killed someone)
health (liver damage)
the list goes on and on
basically nothing good can come of alcohol except for medical use

becoz it has side effects that harm and damage ur body more than it does any good!!
i think jews arent allowed either... and if u really do make an effort to look it up... it sayz in the bible that alcohol should be avoided and isnt allowed.. unless u scratched that part out.. i wouldnt know

iam Muslim and z reason why we dont drink alcohol is coz
alcohol damage the cells in your brain and the second reason
is that alcohol makes u do crazy things without thinking
and z last reason is that its written in the Quran that we must not drink anything that damage our body and brain

Alchohol is an intoxicant. It strays a person away from the things he shouldn't be doing. without it a person can do what he wants and can't blame the alcohol for doing unlawful things.

Allah has said in the Qur'an, "Through intoxicants and games of chance, Shaytan seeks only to cause enmity and hatred among you, and to turn you away from the remembrance of Allah and from Salah." (5:91)
In the ayah immediately prior to that Allah states that "Intoxicants, gambling, stone (alters for idolatrous practices) and (lottery) arrows are an evil of Shaytan. Stay away from them so you can prosper." (5:90)

This just gives me more questions? I am so confused.
It is morally wrong to eat pork and drink Alcohol
But it is okay in fact rewarded in heaven to strap on a bomb and blow up yourself and others who are in the way.
8 Iraq men who were day laborers were blown up by other muslims. they can kill there own people???
I was shocked when I read Aljazera: More Muslims are killed by other Muslims than by anyone else. How sad.
