diet coke and coke zero. i have a can of both in front of me and i cant tell the difference apart from the can design.... whats the point of it?

i think it's a marketing ploy aimed at men who don't want to be seen buying 'diet' drinks.
if you watch the ad in the uk just now, it's all blokes drinking it, is it not?
says it all. clever spinners, those ad and marketing guys!

OK sarah.......coke zero has no sugar in it at all,but it does taste like normal or regular coke.....
diet coke tastes like diet coke which has a sweeter taste.
So now you can have the taste of real coke without the sugar...

they are the same thing......just different labels.
I heard on yahoo answers last week that the zero coke was made for men to look cool...don't know if that is true or not...maybe some one should write the Coke company and ask them.

Coke zero tastes more like Pepsi and Diet coke is more bearable. And yes, it's all marketing because they needed to inovate (maybe profits were falling or something).

consumers are more likely to try something with a new fresh name. Old marketing scheme. You can expect coke zero will be replaced in a year or two with a new updated name.
As long as "New" coke doesn't make another appearance we're all set.

Well I dont have cans in front of me, but I know both have zero calories. Look at the label and see if they have sodium. Maybe the zero has no sodium and the diet does. Just a guess

What an outstanding question.. seriously I never thought about that. However, I would have to say that they probably want to target the people that are trying to lose weight (thats a lot) and so they have a few choices if they like coke :)

coke zero starts to leave a cr ap taste in your mouth after a while, diet is the best

coke zero is supposed to taste like classic coke but it's absolutely foul! They hand them out in the streets sometimes for free so folks can try it but I always decline because it's so nasty :)
