I am leaving for hawaii on satuday and i would like to know what i can bring for carry on. What isn't allowed for stuff in the actual luggage too?

I plan on bring on with me my cell phone, mp3 player, and a laptop.

The rules are changing so rapidly it's hard to keep up. Just on general principles, I'd say if you don't absolutely NEED it while you're on the airplane, put it in checked baggage. The less you have with you when going through security, the easier (and quicker) it will be.
To be sure on current rules, call your airline a few hours before the flight and ask them what you can bring aboard.

You cant bring a cell-phone in your hand-baggage.You can't carry gels and any liquids in your hand bags. You can carry your laptop. I wasn't allowed to take my Mp3 player in the flight.

Just got back from a trip to Texas...you should be okay with bringing you electronic devices on board.
Steer clear from anything that is liquid or gel...they won't allow it on board. There are some exceptions (i.e. baby formula, insulin, prescription medications, small amounts of non-prescription medications, small amounts of eyedrops). They also recently clarified that you can bring solid cosmetics and toiletries (such as solid lipstick/chapstic).
It'd probably be a good idea to check out the most recent list of permitted and prohibited items on the TSA's website. Who knows what they'll outlaw next! ;)

At Chicago o'Hare we had to check all liquid as luggage,,not carry on,,,that day they were even looking at lipstick,,,but you know,,,no flamables,,matches,lighters,etc,,dont know it all myself,,,but the lipgloss thing really surprised me. Enjoy Hawaii,,I went last year to see my son back from Afghanistan,,he lives in Wahiawa,Oahu,,by the Dole plantation,,,ya gotta see it,,,hey,,safe trip...

Bring no liquids of any kind. From what you mentioned, you will be ok.

really don't know I know if you have makeup and other liquid things it needs to be in your suitcase that goes under the plane. You just cant carry it on the plane.

no liquids perfume,lighters,nail clippers,guns, hand/grenades,drugs, flight plans to somewhere else besides where you are going. dress like your from another country you;ll be OK. they dont check them to good. Tell them your a foreign exchange student.and dress in black
