My ex got an attorney who contacted me saying that my ex didn't have a phone number for me or my son and wasn't able to contact us when, in fact, he has called us. How do I obtain those phone records to show his phone number in black & white and the date/time of the call?

The phone company is giving me the runaround. Their Subpoena Dept. claims the phone company doesn't keep those sort of records.

There should be a phone record of your calls on your Phone Bill... if not, contact your Phone Company and tell them that you want a record of all your Incoming Phone Calls... they may charge you for this report, but you can see where the calls come from. Your Ex may be the one who is calling you... but it may be from pay phones, or business phones... and those are the numbers that will show up on your report...Sadly... there is no way to prove who called you from those numbers... if it was... your Ex or someone else, that made those phone calls... Therefore, he can still deny that he does not have a phone and cannot make calls. But this is one major ploy that your Ex's lawyers would use to keep the client's privacy - your Ex's privacy in this case... safe and secure from you. It most likely is NOT the truth... Good Luck!

They should be able to provide you with a list of incoming calls at your request, possibly with a charge.

If he called from a payphone, business phone, or otherwise someone else's phone it won't do you any good. Also if he blocked the outgoing caller ID (like *67 on Qwest) then it will not help. If he still occasionally calls you, you could get a little recording box that records any time the phone is picked up. When he calls you may want to find a way to bring a recent date up in the conversation to prove when he talked to you, like "on next Thursday, the 14th."

The phone company can provide a listing of all incoming and outgoing calls to your number. Not sure if they will charge you for it or not.

Try calling your phone company and seeing if they can do the research for you they might charge a small fee but its probably worth it! Good luck!
