A lot of men do this because they are afraid of commitment. If she is already taken, then the odds of her wanting to be with him are more rare than if she wasn't with anyone. And of course I think it has a lot to do with their ego's. Wanting something another man has. I believe in most cases is not even about the woman, as much as it about what the "man" will do to stroke his ego.

Because it's more of a challenge. Same goes with girls and wanting guys that are taken. Goes both ways.

Men have that problem with women too. Sometimes it seems like women won't leave us alone until we are, well, alone. I think it's just something psychological. But personally, I try to avoid excessive involvement with women who are "taken." Have a nice day!

Only the insecure guys who get a feeling of power over other guys by distracting their girlfriends away from them. They do it because they feel too inadequate to attract available girls, so they need to overcompensate and try to one-up other guys by stealing their girlfriends....and besides, if they get rejected, it's easier for them to deal with to think it's because the girl already choose someone else for a boyfriend. They feel less rejected if she doesn't fall for it. Like this "what do I have to lose if it's not mine to begin with?" It is a transparent defense mechanism. Girls do it, too.

The ironic part about this is that it works both ways. I doesn't seem to matter the gender, only that you are spoken for, which a percentage of folks find challenging and provocative.

This is because when girls have a boyfriend their attitude changes, and guys sense their confidence. When us girls have boyfriends we no longer "look" at guys, or get nervous if a guy looks at us, we're more laid back, because we already have someone. SO dont think this is a big coincidence, its all psychology baby

because once they are told they cant have something they crave it. Like when a mum tells her kids, they cant do something, they want to do it all the more. Its the fact that they dont have an a chance anymore, unlike before when you were single.
