About three months ago, i moved into a trailer park. I moved with my long time cat, and a cat i got a few months before. When we moved in, the new kitty always wanted to be out side, but she couldnt go in and out, because she might give my other cat some disease (she's never had shots). So she was an outside cat, and one day she killed a bunny, so I drove her into the country and let her go on a farm. Well I saw her yesterday, and she's been coming to the door ever since. What should I do? I cant let her back in, but it tears my heart out to see her there.

Sorry for making so many people mad. I guess some people cant grasp the idea of an outside cat. She wanted to be outside, play with animals, run around. She cant do that in a trailer park without being shot or hit by a car. I was helping her out by letting her be outside and play as much as she wanted to, while eliminating the threat of danger. I took her to a farm of a good friend of mine, where they have many barn cats, that's what Ducky is. She cant survive inside. Sorry for confusing you, I didnt just decide one day that she wasnt good enough for me, i did it for her own good, so she could be happy. Gosh, you'd think I commited murder by reading some of your posts. You should be ashamed for yourselves. Harassing me for trying to save my cats life. Maybe you guys should find some real people to talk to, not just your comuters and your cats!

first of all, you have no heart.
i just took in two kittens a few weeks ago, no doubt left out by people such as yourself, who felt that to leave kittens out in the desert to fend for themselves was better than the inconvenience of trying to find them homes or taking them to a shelter.
i have a 10 year old cat who has always ruled the roost around here. she was not too happy at first, and she still hisses at the kittens every so often, but she would never hurt them, and she plays with them sometimes, after only about 2 months. usually, it takes a lot longer than that for an adult cat to warm up to a new cat. with a little supervision, it can be done. if you had the new cat for a few months, i'm sure they were getting along reasonably well, and so there is NO EXCUSE for you to try to get rid of the cat at all, and especially none for the way you chose to do it under any circumstances. our 10 year old cat never had any shots except rabies and she is out and eating small prey all the time. once she even caught a bat! she is perfectly healthy and so are the kittens.
if you had any heart, you would not have a pet you can't take care of. pets aren't just cute and cuddly, they need things like shots and vet visits. if you can't provide those, please find better homes for your pets - and i mean both of them.

As others have stated here the best solution is to surrender her to an animal shelter. Or perhaps you could find a neighbour in your trailer community to adopt her by posting notices of a free kitty. By leaving her outside to fend for herself (which she will not be able to do if there's no food and water) she will starve or worse be attacked by a predator or hit by a car. Even though she was born as an outdoor cat she is considered a domestic animal who is incapable of surviving with human help.

Please consider surrendering her to a shelter or finding a neighbour. At least then you will not feel as bad and know she is safe from dangers an outdoor environment.

The average life expectancy of an outdoor cat is 3 years. They are also exposed to the cruelty of people, diseases, starvation, dogs and cars. Also if your new kitty is not fixed she can produce tons of kittens that there will never be enough homes for.

One solution is to take new cat to vet, get it altered, get it tested and vaccinated and do not let it out again period.

Two: Because of the reasons listed above you should not leave it outside.

Three:
you should feel guilty as hell for dropping it off to fend for itself and that it still managed to come back to your sorry ***.

If you don't want it take it to the pound. It may have a chance to be adopted out. If not, euthanasia is a much better solution than suffering outside.

give her to a animal shelter, obviously you can't give her the love she deserves. You took the responsibility of caring for her when she was a kitten. But now, that you can't properly care for her - you tried to abandon her in the middle of nowhere. Since she came back, it shows how much she still loves you - how much a cats love endures.
How would you feel if your man just dumped you in a strange place with nothing but the clothes on your back?

Its not fair is it?

So, even if you do give her to a animal shelter, she will be sad and lonely every day until someone gives her a home. Or is nobody adopts her, she will eventually be put down. But until that day, she will be fed and cared for in the very least.

Not left abandoned on some lonely road. To be eaten by a fox or other wild animal, or be run over by someone else who doesn't care.
Left to suffer in loneliness.

First of all, why didn't you get your new cat the shots that it needs, especially for being an outside cat? If you don't want the cat, you should take her to a no kill shelter for adoption. Cats are hunters, it is second nature for them to kill, either to eat or for protection. So my adivse is to research for a no kill shelter or take her to the local animal shelter. It's better than letting her wander around with the chance that someone will catch her and torture her. Do the right thing by her and don't get another cat, if you don't want it to be part of your family. If I wasn't so allergic to cats, I would take her.

Give her to a no kill shelter OR BETTER find a new home for her
But what you can do is bring a tub of water outside GENTLY restarin her clean her off and let her come inside if you where a kid and your parents would not let you inside how would that make you feel sad i mean if they just abbondend you because you where dirty would you feel good about that NO would the kitty thats like putting her in a foster home would you like to leave your wife and children just because you where dirty NO so if you deside to not keep her PLEASE gove her to a NO-KILL shelter ok?

Letting her back in will ease your heart and it is the only fair thing to do for the cat. The other shots are not that necessary. She can get a rabies shot from a vet or a humane society clinic. The clinics do it at very minimal cost.

It is just a cat's nature to kill small prey animals. You need to understand this and accept this in her.

Take the Cat to the local SPCA/animal shelter. They will try and find a good home for her. Or you could ask a friend if they want her.

Nothing makes more angry then to read and hear people that seem to think a cat or any other pet is disposable.Just because this cat no longer suits your needs you just up and dump her. shame on you.! What you need to do is rehome her. Not just dump her outside and expect her to fend for herself. How cruel and heartless can anyone get!

Bring your cat in the house and don't be rediculous. Cats kill small animals and for you to drop off your cat out on a farm is RETARDED. ITs thoughtless people like you that make me INSANE. People like you are the reason we have a cat population problem. BRing your cat in the house fix it and give it shots !!
