No. Most students get some money from their families, and financial aid packages, grants, scholarships, and loans.

A lot of students pay for it themselves. I did and so did a lot of my friends. Actually, I did it with the help of my Uncle Sam... now I am paying him back, but he has given me quite a good interest rate!!

The best thing to do is try to find an assistantship so you can get your school paid for. Ask all the professors you know (as long as you are interested in their research).

From the information I get from here most students believe someone else should pay for their education. They think it is a right to go to college or university. It is not a right, it is a priviledge and if you don't deserve it or value it, you should not be there.

We all get help from someone, even if it's just loans. Still, most of us are responsible for at least a portion of our education. For example, I've gotten a number of scholarships (through my own hard work, I might add), but I've had to cover everything they didn't. Between that and working crappy jobs, I've made it to my senior year (I have three semesters left) and I'm just now taking out loans. I'm putting myself through school.
