No not quite. First the jw said the word was going to end in 1918, when it obviously didn't, they said the world began to end in 1918 it is just taking a very long time to fall apart. This is one of the most creative ways to handle god's not showing up I've ever heard.

It is in many libraries too. That's where I read it and almost got tossed out for laughing.

JW's never claimed that Jesus' second coming would happen in 1918. They predicted over 30 years in advance the "end of the Gentile times" would be in 1914 and that something big would happen. Some thought it was Armageddon. This was based on an elaborate Bible prophecy counting from the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in 640 BCE.

As it would turn out, the scripture in Revelation depicting Satan being cast out of heaven to the vicinity of the earth happened then. What happened in 1914? WWI!

For JW's to believe that they are the right religion isn't arrogant. If you didn't believe that you were in the right religion, why would you be in it? If you don't believe your religion is correct, get out.

Jehovah's Witnesses are proven to be true Christians because of their strict adherence to the bible, and especially due to their unique fulfillment of Christ's command for Christians to perform a global preaching work.

It was after 1918 that several of those who were then "taking the lead" among Jehovah's Witnesses were released from federal prison and exonerated from the false charges of sedition. At that point, the religion's preaching work received new impetus, quickly making Jehovah's Witnesses the group most widely associated with public house-to-house preaching.
