DELLS 4.1 million recall of laptop batteries manufactured by SONY due to overheating and seven or more cases of spontaneuos fires caused by inconsistencies within the batteries...FYI...could we expect a ban on all electronic devices...ala fluids.

No, because they are recalling all the defective product. It isn't like they are just saying "Hey, the battery spontaneously catches fire. Have fun with that."

When FAA started banning fluids, there's no guess what they're going to ban next. Nailclippers already are banned, as are books. Of course they're gonna ban all electronic devices. Soon you'll have to leave your wristwatch as checked baggage. After that they will ban clothes too.

Not that I think this has anything to do with DELL. Even if it might be somewhat sane to look for potentially dangerous stuff instead of taking away peoples nailclippers and water since they can be used as weapons, the regulations after 9/11 has nothing to do with logic, and everything to do with bureacracy.

Its very very doubtful! In the past have they ever banned something for being defective? No. So I highly doubt it, but hey you never know.
